SWEET HOME – Junior guard Harlee Baker returned to the Sutherlin girl’s lineup Friday night at Sweet Home after being idled since Dec. 17 when she broke a finger at a tournament in Coos Bay. She immediately scored the first basket of the game and the Bulldogs never looked back on the way to a 58-13 victory.
The game was decided quickly, as the Bulldogs bolted out to a 23-2 lead after one, and built it to 42-6 at the half.
Baker scored 10 points in her return. Taylor Stricklin scored 17 to lead the Bulldogs (14-5, 4-1 Sky-Em), freshman Kiersten Haines had 15 with three 3-pointers,
The defense held the Huskies (0-5, 0-17) to single digits in every quarter on the way to the rout.
The Lady Bulldogs finished the first half of Sky-Em League play in a tie with Cottage Grove for first place, both with 4-1 records.
The Bulldogs get a bye on Tuesday and league play picks up on Friday, when they host Junction City.
