WINCHESTER – The Umpqua women’s basketball team stretched its winning streak to five games with a lopsided 65-39 triumph over the visiting Clackamas Cougars on Saturday afternoon.

Jordan Stotler scored a game-high 28 point and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead the way for the Riverhawks. The freshman post also had nine blocked shots, finishing one shy of a triple-double.

Umpqua dominated the contest from the start. The women outscored Clackamas 15-2 in the first quarter and led 31-8 at the halftime break. The Cougars struggled mightily from the floor, making just 13-of-71 attempts (18%).

Dajanay (Daisy) Powell scored 15 points in just 22 minutes of action for Umpqua and Bria Thames added 13 and a team-high 17 rebounds.

Sydni Dalton scored 16 to lead Clackamas and Sutherlin grad Kayce Mock led the Cougars with 14 rebounds.

The UCC women are now 5-0 in league play and hold a one-game lead over Lane for first in the South Region. They have been dominant since starting league play. Over their five-game winning streak, the Riverhawks have beaten opponents by an average of 29.2 points.

Up next, Umpqua will visit Chemeketa on Wednesday. The women play at 5:30 p.m.
