MEDFORD – The Roseburg wrestling team dominated its first dual against a district opponent. The top-ranked Tribe defeated No. 7 North Medford 64-12 on the road Wednesday.

The Indians had 11 of their 13 wrestlers win their matches and eight of those winners won by fall. Roseburg wrestlers to win by pinning their opponents were Tristin David, Tommy Spence, Bennett Mesa, Layne VanAnrooy, Matt McDowell, Austin Harris, Cam Campbell and Haydn Maley.

Roseburg continues to roll this season as the team gears up for the stretch run to another state championship. Up next, the Roseburg wrestling team will take part in the Oregon Classic in Redmond. The Classic is now in its 36th year and will feature the top talent from all six classifications in Oregon. The dual-format tournament will be made up of wrestlers from 96 teams. The tournament kicks off on Friday.
