ROSEBURG – The high school basketball season continues to heat up as league play begins Tuesday for the Roseburg Indians.

The Roseburg boys and girls square off against the Sheldon Irish to start the Southwest Conference season. The boys hit the road, looking to build some early confidence for a push to get back into the playoffs, where the Indians have been since the 2012-2013 season. The girls host the Irish and look to continue their success in league play under head coach Rich Robles, who has made the playoffs every year he’s been leading the program.

The conference season begins Tuesday. The Roseburg girls tipoff at home at 6:45 p.m. The Roseburg boys also tipoff at 6:45 p.m. from Eugene and fans can follow the action on 1490 The Score or streaming with video online at 541radio.com. Coverage of the Roseburg boys starts at 6:30 p.m.

The Sutherlin basketball teams don’t start league play until Friday, so it’s one final tune up for the Bulldogs. The boys will play a make-up game against North Bend, while the girls host Stayton for a regularly scheduled non-conference affair.

Sutherlin basketball can be heard on i101-FM. Dan Bain brings you the action starting with the boys at 5:30 p.m. and the girls game will follow. Pregame coverage starts at 5:15 p.m.
