UMPQUA BASIN – The weather and hazardous road conditions have cancelled a number of high school sporting events scheduled for Tuesday night.
Sutherlin has had its boys and girls basketball games against North Bend cancelled. The two sides appear to be in talks about moving the games to a new date, but no make-up games have been announced.
The Glide teams had a road trip to Rogue River scheduled, which has been cancelled. The Chieftains did not have school Tuesday due to heavy snowfall in the area. The match-up will not be rescheduled according to Glide athletic director Brian Halter.
A series scheduled between Riddle’s boys and girls against Bandon has been cancelled and so has Days Creek’s home series against Chiloquin.
Camas Valley’s home match-up against the Marshfield JV teams is most likely cancelled since the Hornets did not have school Tuesday. Neither school has confirmed the status of these contests.
South Umpqua’s games at Cottage Grove have not been cancelled but have been moved to an earlier start time. The boys varsity and girls JV teams will begin play at 4:30 p.m. and the girls varsity and boys JV teams will start play at 6 p.m.
