Reynolds Raiders 68, Roseburg Indians 52 (Abby’s Holiday Classic)
The Roseburg boys lost 68-52 against Reynolds in a consolation game at the Abby’s Holiday Classic in Medford. The Indians were outscored 26-15 in the final period after keeping the game within reach most of the contest. Collin Warmouth led Roseburg with 18 points. The Tribe will play for a 7th place finish at noon Thursday against the Ashland Grizzlies.
Roseburg Indians 53, Churchill Lancers 52 (Summit Holiday Tournament)
The Roseburg girls edged Churchill 53-52 in the opening round of the Summit Holiday Tournament in Bend. Amaya Goins scored a team-high 19 points, including the go-ahead bucket, to lead the Indians. Roseburg will face Lincoln at 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
Sutherlin Bulldogs 47, Marshfield Pirates 35 (Evergreen Federal Winter Classic)
The Sutherlin boys got 28 points from senior Marshal Warmouth and the Bulldogs downed Marshfield 47-35 in the first round of the Evergreen Federal Winter Classic at Hidden Valley High School. Sutherlin faces Hidden Valley in the winner’s bracket semifinals at 3 p.m. Thursday. FULL STORY
Marshfield Pirates 51, Sutherlin Bulldogs 43 (Evergreen Federal Winter Classic)
The Sutherlin girls could not overcome sickness, injuries, and lots of turnovers Wednesday afternoon, losing to Marshfield 51-43 in the first round of the Evergreen Winter Classic. Douglas senior Darian Mitchell had a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds as she helped lead the Lady Trojans to a 49-31 win over the visiting Cottage Grove Lions.
Cottage Grove Lions 76, Douglas Trojans 55
The Douglas boys couldn’t keep up with the No. 10 Lions and lost 76-55. Quinden Parson scored 13 points for Douglas.
