CAMAS VALLEY – The Camas Valley boys and girls basketball teams hosted the Myrtle Point Bobcats on Wednesday, but it just wasn’t meant to be for the Hornets.

Junior Jack House had 14 points and Ryland Brown added 10, but the Camas Valley boys lost 92-51 at home against Myrtle Point. Jake Miller led the Bobcats with 24 points.

Camas Valley sophomore Cathryn Casteel scored 8 points to lead the Lady Hornets, but Myrtle Point pulled off the sweep with a 43-25 victory. Tamika Pierce had 16 points to lead the Bobcats. 

The Camas Valley teams are back to action on December 15 at Canyonville Christian Academy.

Coming up on the high school hoops schedule for Thursday is a few games at the lower classifications.

The Umpqua Valley Monarchs host Rogue Valley Adventist for a non-conference match-up. Both UVC teams are 1-2 on the year and looking to get rolling against the Hawks. The girls start the night with a 6 p.m. tipoff and the boys will follow at approximately 7:30 p.m. 

Also playing Thursday, the Milo Adventist Academy basketball teams visit Hidden Valley to square off against the JV teams. The girls begin play at 5:30 p.m. and the boys follow at approximately 7 p.m.
