CORVALLIS – Oregon State wide receivers coach Brent Brennan was announced Wednesday as the new head coach of the San Jose State University football program.
Brennan was an assistant coach for the Spartans from 2005 to 2010 and spent the last six seasons as the wide receivers coach for the Beavers.
“We are thrilled to have Brent back at San Jose State,” said athletic director Gene Bleymaier via a release for the university. “He is an exceptional football coach and one of the most respected recruiters in the country. His coaching background and ties to San Jose State make Brent a perfect fit.”
While at SJSU, Brennan coached receivers, tight ends and offensive tackles, was a special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator. While at Oregon State, Brennan coached some of the best receivers in program history. He worked with All-American wide receivers Brandin Cooks and Markus Wheaton.
Brennan will be formally introduced at a press conference Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
