ROSEBURG – The Roseburg basketball teams will try to bounce back from losses last Friday. Both the boys and girls suffered their first defeats of the season while squaring off against the Springfield Millers.

The Indians take on the Thurston Colts Tuesday, a team that is no longer a conference foe. The Colts dropped to the 5A classification this season after being in the 6A Southwest Conference with Roseburg last year.

The girls hit the road and head for Springfield, while the boys play their home-opener against the Colts. Both games tipoff at 6:45 p.m. Tune in to hear the Roseburg boys on the radio, starting with pregame coverage at 6:30 p.m. on 1490 The Score. Fans can also watch the game streaming live on 541radio.com.

There’s another former league match-up going on Tuesday night, when the Sutherlin basketball teams host Douglas. The two sides used to belong to the Far West League, but the Bulldogs moved to the Sky-Em League a few seasons ago.

The Douglas County rivalry game will take place at Sutherlin High School, where both teams took part in the Bill Spelgatti Tournament over the weekend. The Sutherlin boys took first and the Sutherlin girls took second in the tournament. The Douglas teams both finished third. The two teams never faced off in the tournament.

The girls play first followed by the boys. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. and fans can listen to the game on i101fm starting with pregame at 5:45 p.m.
