TACOMA, WASHINGTON – The Umpqua Community College volleyball team fell short 2-0 against the Clark Penguins Saturday morning, eliminating them from the NWAC tournament.

The Riverhawks lost the first set 20-25 after getting down early to the Penguins 14-18, they battled back to make things interesting 17-18 but eventually dropped the opening set.

Umpqua fought in the second set as both teams exchanged the lead several times as it came down to the final points of the set. Eventually, the Penguins finished it off with four straight points to win the set 23-25, ending the Riverhawks season.

The Riverhawks were led by Olivia Gulliford who had 10 kills and 7 digs, along with Kaysie Cornelio who has 13 digs. Kamalani Cachola had 12 assists and Kaylee Hagadorn had nine assists.

The Riverhawks had a great run in the NWAC tournament beating several teams by comeback victories.
