PORTLAND – The Glide volleyball team takes on the Westside Christian Eagles in the OSAA 3A state quarterfinals at 8 a.m. on Friday at Forest Grove High School in Portland.

Glide is ranked No. 1 in the tournament while Westside Christian is ranked 9th. If the Wildcats are able to get past the Eagles, they would play Friday night at 6:30 in a semifinal game that would determine who would go to the state final.

“We’re feeling ready and prepared,” head coach Misti-Kae Bucich said. “They have a great big outside hitter that we’ve been preparing for defensively. They have a strong team and we’re not underestimating them.”

Glide practiced Thursday morning to prepare for the early game Friday in Portland.

Glide beat St. Mary’s from Medford last Saturday at home 3-0 in the first round of the playoffs to get to the quarterfinal round. The Wildcats are looking to build off their Mountain Valley Conference league title that they won in the regular season. Glide enters the round of eight with a 23-2 overall record.

If Glide is able to get into the 3A state final, it would be played Saturday at 6 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on the OSAA website. Check the OSAA website for more information.
