OREGON CITY – Roseburg native Jenna Anderson ran her fastest time of the season to help the Lane Community College women’s cross country team take first in the NWAC South Region Championships on Saturday.
Anderson, a freshman at Lane, placed fifth in the overall standings with a time of 20:08. Her time was nearly a minute-and-a-half behind first place finisher and teammate Lexi Healy. The Titans cruised ahead of runner-up Treasure Valley, 33 points to 49.
Anderson’s time was her best this season in the 5K race by almost a full minute. Her performance helped the Titans advance to the NWAC conference championship coming up November 12 in Olympia, WA.
Also racing for Lane at the South Region Championship was Roseburg native Reesha Carnine, who finished 33rd overall.
Carnine and Anderson both ran cross country at Roseburg High School and graduated together in the class of 2016.
