Sutherlin – Sutherlin Volleyball beat North Bend 3-1 Tuesday night in a play-in game to advance into the OSAA State Playoffs round of 16.  

The Sutherlin Bulldogs jumped out of the gates to take the first set 25-17. In the second set both teams battled back and forth after North Bend took the early lead. A late run including five straight points helped carry Sutherlin to win the second set 25-19. North Bend scored six straight points after going down 0-4 to start the third. North Bend was able to hold off a late Sutherlin rally to win the third set 25-22. In the fourth, Sutherlin cruised to victory taking the set and the match 25-18, 3-1 to defeat North Bend and move on to the state playoffs.

Harlee Baker led the Sutherlin Bulldogs with 22 kills and 18 digs. Hope Adamson pitched in 45 assists, while Sydnee Allen had 16 kills and eight digs. Caithlynn Carrillo had 23 digs and Katie Hyne has 5 kills to go along with 12 digs.

Sutherlin will play a to be determined opponent coming up on Saturday. Sutherlin is ranked 14th in the OSAA rankings with a 13-8 record.

North Bend’s season ends with a tough loss bringing their overall record to 10-8 and finish 16th in the OSAA rankings.
