SWEET HOME – The Sutherlin Bulldogs lost for the sixth straight time dropping a Sky-Em contest at Sweet Home 25-7 Friday night.
The Bulldogs defense shut out the Huskies in the first half until quaterback Daniel Virtue hit Colten Smith with a 15-yard pass with :29 left in the half and took a 7-0 lead at the break.
Sutherlin tied the game on the second half kickoff when Conner Grauf brought it back 76 yards to tie the game at 7-7.
But turnovers started taking their toll on Sutherlin throughout the second half.
Sutherlin (0-6; 0-3 SEL) fumbled six times losing four, and had two interceptions and a punt from their end zone that was fumbled and partially blocked that was run back by Colton Smith 26 yards for a score late in the third quarter that gave the Huskies a 19-7 lead.
Junior quarterback Zach Yarbrough was 11-22 passing for 145 yards and 2 interceptions.
Up next, Sutherlin hosts Cottage next Friday.
