sutherlin_vbSUTHERLIN – The Sutherlin Bulldogs volleyball team fell 3-0 to the Sisters Outlaws Thursday night in a Sky-Em League match. Sisters improved to 7-0 in league while Sutherlin fell to 4-3.

The Bulldogs battled with the Outlaws in a close first set. However, in the second and third sets, the Outlaws took over the match and swept Sutherlin in three sets.

The Sutherlin Bulldogs were led by Harlee Baker who had nine kills and three digs. Hannah Harwood pitched in 12 assists and Caithlynn Carrillo had 10 digs.

Sutherlin plays another important match next Tuesday against Cottage Grove. The Bulldogs dropped into a 3-way tie for second place with the Lions and Sweet Home.

The Outlaws play this weekend in the Bend Clearwater Classic where they could potentially face the Roseburg Indians. Then they return to Sky-Em league play next Tuesday against Sweet Home as they try to improve on a 17-2 overall record. Sisters is currently 3rd in the OSAA rankings.

With only three league games to go for most Sky-Em League teams, every match down the stretch is crucial in the final playoff run.
