CLACKAMAS – The Umpqua Riverhawks volleyball team downed Clackamas 3-0 on Saturday to move back to a .500 record in conference play.
The Lady Riverhawks kept themselves in the thick of the playoff race by sweeping the Cougars. UCC cruised to a convincing 25-13 win in set one. The Riverhawks were challenged a bit more in the final two sets, but managed to finish strong. Clackamas was able to tie Umpqua at 14-14 in both sets two and three, but from there the Lady Riverhawks powered on to a 25-20 victory in set two and a 25-18 win in set three.
Dominique Wenzler-Steves led the Riverhawks with seven kills and six block assists.
Umpqua is now 2-2 in conference games and 14-13 overall. Up next, the team will host Linn-Benton on Friday.
