BULLDOGS REV UP THE OFFENSE, BUT FALCONS TOO MUCH

SUTHERLIN – The Sutherlin football team finally got its offense going on Friday night, but unbeaten Elmira just had a little too much firepower and the Falcons pulled away for a 45-28 victory in a Sky-Em League game.

The Bulldogs (0-5; 0-2 Sky-Em) cut the Elmira (5-0; 2-0 Sky-Em) lead to 38-28 with 2 minutes to go, but couldn’t get the onside kick.

Coach Sean Radford felt they played pretty well in a lot of areas.

“I thought we played really well in a lot of situations. We had four big plays and started capitalizing on some of the opportunities we had,” said Radford.

Zachary Yarbrough threw two touchdown passes of 74 and 66 yards, both to Tristan Needham. Needham also ran eight yards for another Sutherlin score.
