Groshong, Drew3BANKS, OR – Roseburg native Drew Groshong finished second at the Pacific Invite to help lead the Lewis & Clark men’s golf team to a third place finish on Sunday.

Groshong placed second with a 2-under-par 140 and was one of four golfers to finish even-par or below at Quail Valley Golf Course. He was one stroke behind medalist Sam Hinton of Willamette.

The senior finished with two bogeys and one double-bogey during his final round, but he also had four birdies. If not for an eagle by first place Hinton on the 14th hole, Groshong might have been able to finish tied for first or better.

As a team, Groshong and the Lewis & Clark Pioneers finished one-stroke behind second place George Fox. The Pioneers’ golf team will compete next weekend at the Whitman Invitational in Walla Walla, WA.
