ROSEBURG – The Roseburg volleyball team holds an early one-game lead over the competition in the Southwest Conference standings and the Indians will aim to hold on to that advantage when they travel to Willamette High School on Tuesday.

Roseburg is 4-0 in conference games and holds a slim lead over second place Sheldon (3-1). The Indians are one-third of the way through their league schedule, but still need to face Willamette and North Medford to complete their first time through. By the end of the season, Roseburg will have played every Southwest Conference team twice.

The Wolverines are 0-3 in conference games and 1-7 on the season. Willamette hosts Roseburg in Eugene at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The Sutherlin volleyball team is still seeking its first Sky-Em League victory after a tough loss at Sisters to start league play on Thursday last week.

Despite the 0-1 record in league play, the Lady Bulldogs are one of four teams in the Sky-Em to currently be ranked in the top 10 by the OSAA. Sutherlin checks in at No. 10. Cottage Grove, Sutherlin’s opponent on Tuesday, is ranked No. 8 by the OSAA.

The top 10 contest between the Bulldogs and Lions begins at 6 p.m. in Cottage Grove.

The Glide volleyball team is undefeated this season and begins Mountain Valley Conference play on Tuesday night. The Wildcats are coming off a championship in the Oakridge Tournament over the weekend. They beat Pleasant Hill during that tournament and will try to do it again on Tuesday to remain perfect on the year.

Glide hosts Pleasant Hill at 6 p.m.
