OLYMPIA, WA – The Umpqua women’s volleyball team snapped its three-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over South Puget Sound on Thursday.
Sutherlin-grad Olivia Gulliford had 14 kills to tie for the team-high with sophomore Vivian Rodriguez from Klamath Falls. Gulliford also had six serving aces and 22 digs in the match. Sophomore Kaysie Cornelio led the team with 33 digs.
The Lady Riverhawks took the first two sets routinely before the Clippers rallied to force a fourth set. UCC polished off the win with a 25-21 victory.
Up next the Umpqua women take part in a tournament starting Friday morning at Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake, WA. The Riverhawks start against Wenatchee Valley.
