OLYMPIA, WA – The Umpqua Community College volleyball team is back to action on Thursday as the team continues its lengthy road trip.
The Lady Riverhawks have been playing away from home since the start of September, but the road hasn’t been very friendly. UCC has won just one game during its trek and the women carry a three-game losing streak into Thursday’s contest against South Puget Sound Community College. The Lady Riverhawks try to right the ship against the Clippers at 2 p.m.
In other Riverhawks news, sophomore Libero Kaysie Cornelio was named the South Region defensive player of the week by the Northwest Athletic Conference for a second consecutive week. Cornelio was named the conference’s defensive player of the week as a freshman in week 2 of the 2015 season.
