UMPQUA BASIN – All three 4A schools in the Umpqua Basin will take to the floor Thursday for non-league volleyball matches.
Sutherlin, South Umpqua and Douglas are all in action Thursday. The Bulldogs and Trojans each host matches, while the Lady Lancers hit the road.
Sutherlin puts its 2-0 record on the line when the Lady Bulldogs host Hidden Valley. So far this season, Sutherlin has taken down rivals Oakland and South Umpqua and the Bulldogs haven’t lost a set yet. Their contest against the Mustangs begins at 6 p.m.
The Douglas Trojans are 1-0 on the year after defeating Elmira in their season opener on Tuesday. The Lady Trojans didn’t have much trouble, winning in four sets. Next up, Douglas hosts Sweet Home Thursday at 6:30 p.m. for their first home game of the year.
South Umpqua lost in straight sets against Sutherlin to start the year, but now the Lancers look to bounce back with a road match-up against North Valley. The Knights are also winless on the year. The match begins at 6:15 p.m. in Grants Pass.
