14095961_10155108785338906_7546821040464651291_nROSEBURG – The Roseburg girls soccer team got a first half goal and held on for a 1-0 win over West Albany on Tuesday, claiming their first win of the young season. Playing at home for the first time this year, Roseburg jumped in front on a goal by senior forward Alana Kilby. The Indians managed to keep the Bulldogs at bay, handing West Albany its first loss of the season.

Roseburg is now 1-1 on the season. Up next, the Indians begin league play with a home game against the Sheldon Irish on Tuesday, September 6.

The Roseburg boys also earned a win against West Albany on Tuesday. The Indians continued to be offensive juggernauts with a 5-2 victory over the Bulldogs. Roseburg has now combined to score nine goals in just two games, one of the highest totals in the state.

Sophomores Stephen Lake and Patrick Giraudo each scored two goals to lead the attack for Roseburg.  Senior Nolan Simmie also scored.

The Roseburg boys remain undefeated on the season at 2-0 and will also begin league play next week. The Indians visit Sheldon on Tuesday, September 6.
