WINSTON – The Douglas boys soccer team got a 6-0 shutout win over Yamhill-Carlton on Monday to start the season. The Trojans had three goals in each half of the exhibition contest. The regular season for Douglas begins on Tuesday next week at Elmira.
There’s a pretty full slate of Umpqua prep games coming up on Tuesday.
The Roseburg boys and girls soccer teams face West Albany in non-league play. The boy’s team hits the road for the first time this year. They will look to defend their undefeated record after shutting out Thurston in the season opener. The Roseburg girls host West Albany looking to pick up the first win of the year.
The boy’s game in Albany starts at 5 p.m. and the girls begin play at 6 p.m. at Finlay Field in Roseburg.
The first regular season contest to be played on the new turf field at Sutherlin High School takes place on Tuesday when the Sutherlin girls soccer team hosts North Valley in the season opener. The contest begins at 7 p.m.
