SUTHERLIN – The Sutherlin Booster Club announced Sunday that a dedication ceremony for the new turf field at Sutherlin High School will be held on Friday just before the first football game of the season.

The renovated field was completed over the summer in time for fall sports teams to begin practices. The Sutherlin girls soccer team will play the first regular season game on the field when it opens the season at home on Tuesday. The football team begins the year at home Friday with a rivalry game against the Oakland Oakers.

Admission for the football game is being waived by the school district, so fans can attend the dedication ceremony for free. The celebration is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m. with the football game kicking off at 7 p.m. In lieu of admission costs, the booster club will accept donations with all proceeds going directly to the costs for the turf field.
