CORVALLIS – The Oregon State football team officially begins the 2016 season on Friday with the first of its fall practices. The Beavers begin the season in Bend at Summit High School, where the team will hold seven practices. OSU moved its practices to Central Oregon while final construction is done on the Valley Football Center on campus in Corvallis.

As the Beavers begin the season, head coach Gary Andersen announced the six players that will serve as captains for Oregon State this year.

The team voted wide receiver Victor Bolden Jr., safety Devin Chappell, quarterback Darrell Garretson, offensive lineman Sean Harlow, linebacker Caleb Saulo, and offensive lineman Dustin Stanton as team captains. Garretson is the only non-senior in the group.

The Beavers will practice at 10 a.m. Friday. Saturday’s practice is open to the public and begins at 10:15 a.m.
