EUGENE – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team will play for a state championship on Sunday after outlasting Wilson 8-5 in the semifinals Saturday at Willamette High School.

The Renegades got solid pitching from Doran Gillespie and an early offensive spurt put Roseburg in front of Wilson. The Wilson team, sponsored by Jake’s Crawfish, managed to cut the lead down, but the Renegades held on for the victory and berth in Sunday’s title game.

Roseburg will face West Salem in the championship bout at 5 p.m.. The Renegades last won the state title in 2011.
