EUGENE – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team advanced one step closer to a state title with a walk-off 5-4 win over South Medford in the second round on Friday night.
The Renegades scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to earn the victory. They advance to the semifinal round coming up on Saturday night. The Renegades face Wilson Jake’s Crawfish at 7:30 p.m. Saturday for a berth in the state title game on Sunday.
The last time the Renegades won the state title was in 2011. The 2016 state tournament is being held in Eugene at Willamette High School.
