SACRAMENTO, CA – A trio of Roseburg High School athletes will start competition next week in the 50th USA Track & Field National Junior Olympic Championships at California State University, Sacramento. Tyler Sconce, Jordan Smith, and Dalton Rasmussen have all qualified for the historic meet which has produced many of the best Olympic track and field athletes in US history.
Sconce will compete in shot put, while Rasmussen will throw in the javelin and discus. Smith will compete in the high jump.
The meet begins on Monday, July 25. Athletes from seven to 18 years old are registered for the meet and over 12,000 competitors from around the country will take part.
