EUGENE – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team begins its time at the Division II state tournament in Eugene on Friday. The Renegades earned a first round bye as the North Division champion and now will face South Medford in the second round. South Medford beat Corvallis 11-10 in the first round on Thursday to advance.
Roseburg is looking to improve on last year’s fourth place finish. The Renegades lost in the second round to fall into the consolation bracket. The team was able to bounce back to finish the tournament with back-to-back wins.
This year the team is confident that they can win it all for the first time since 2011. Roseburg and South Medford take the field at Willamette High School at 2:30 p.m.
