ROSEBURG – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team qualified for the state tournament by winning their league for an eighth straight year.

The Renegades will be spectators on the opening day of the tournament on Thursday. The team received a first round bye and will begin play on Friday against the winner of South Medford and Corvallis, who play on Thursday.

Roseburg is only three wins away from a state championship. The Renegades take the field at 2:30 p.m. Friday for their second round game. If they win, they will play late Saturday and the title game is Sunday afternoon. The state tournament is being played at Willamette High School in Eugene.
