MADISON, WI – The Professional Disc Golf Association World Amateur Championships in Madison, WI wrapped-up early for Roseburg’s Raymond Hernandez. The 17-year-old finished tied for sixth place after bowing out of the tournament in the semifinal round. Hernandez missed out on the final round in the Junior I division by three strokes.
Hernandez shot three-under par in his semifinal round on Saturday morning. He had three bogies and six birdies during his final round. He finished the tournament 31-strokes under par.
The sixth place finish is better than his ninth place finish in the Junior II division one year ago, but it’s below where Hernandez had expected to place. Going into the tournament, Hernandez was confident that he could win his division. Logan Fiske from Alabama won the division with a seven round total of 372, or 53-strokes under par.
