BOISE – The Roseburg Renegades Junior State Baseball team went 3-3 during the Boise Firecracker Tournament over the weekend for a 6th place finish out of 18 teams. The Renegades ended the lengthy road trip on Sunday with a 4-3 loss against the Boise Gems. Roseburg led 3-2 going to the bottom of the seventh inning, but couldn’t hold off the Gems, who defeated the Renegades for a second time in the Firecracker Tournament.
SINGLE-A LEGION BASEBALL
The Umpqua Lions hosted Bend for a non-league doubleheader on Sunday at Legion Field. The Lions played tight in game one, but dropped a 7-6 decision and lost game two 6-1. The losses give the Lions a four-game losing streak, but the team will have a chance to bounce back with a league doubleheader on the road against the Grants Pass Miners on Tuesday. The Lions swept the Miners in a home doubleheader just last Thursday.
