MEDFORD – The Pepsi Bottlecaps have run a win streak to four games after sweeping past South Medford on Wednesday. The ‘Caps took game one 7-3 and game two 8-5.

Pepsi had to comeback in the seventh inning of game one for the win. The Bottlecaps trailed 3-2, but a hard liner hit by Brody Black drove in Garrett Russell, who opened the inning with an infield single. With the game tied, Pepsi loaded the bases and Paxton Shinn hit a double to drive in two runs. The Bottlecaps added two more runs on an error and held on for the four-run win.

In game two, it was Zack Mandera’s two-run homer in the fifth inning that put Pepsi in front for good. The blast put the Bottlecaps up 5-4 and Mandera added another RBI later in the game to stretch Pepsi’s lead to 7-4. Brendan Ibarra scored in the seventh to make it 8-4. South Medford scored once in the final frame, but the Bottlecaps avoided a late letdown.
