SISTERS, OR – Roseburg native Drew Groshong shot two-strokes better during his second round of play at the 107th Oregon Amateur Golf Championships on Tuesday, but it wasn’t enough as he missed the mark to qualify for match play starting Wednesday.
Playing at Glaze Meadows Golf Course in Sisters, OR, Groshong shot 6-over par in his second round for a two round total of 158. That put him in a group of golfers that finished one-stroke behind the last qualifiers for match play.
Only the top 64 low scores advanced to the single elimination match play round. Groshong improved from day one by hitting three birdies during his 18-holes on Tuesday, but he added three double-bogeys to his round. Groshong finished tied for 66th place.
