SISTERS, OR – Roseburg native Drew Groshong is in contention to advance to match play after day one of the 107^th Oregon Amateur golf championships at Glaze Meadows Golf Course in Sisters, OR.

Groshong shot an 8-over par (80) on Monday during the first round of stroke play at the championship. That was good enough to put him in a tie for 60^th in the field of 130 golfers. The top 64 low scores after Tuesday’s second round of stroke play will advance to single elimination match play.

Groshong qualified for the championship tournament by shooting 2-over par and finishing tied for 11^th in a qualifying tournament at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks at the start of the month. His second round will begin at 2:25 p.m.
