ROSEBURG – The Pepsi Bottlecaps and Umpqua Lions will square off Monday in a battle of the two local single-A Legion baseball teams. The teams will play a league doubleheader, the first of two such meetings this season.
Pepsi enters the twin bill with a three-game losing streak. The Bottlecaps dropped a road game against Central Point 16-1 on Saturday. Overall, Pepsi is 1-3 on the year.
The Umpqua Lions are just 0-1 on the year after losing their season opener in extra innings almost two weeks ago. The Lions have been off for 11 days and will be well rested for their cross-town rivals.
Game one of the doubleheader starts at 6 p.m. from Legion Field.
