ROSEBURG – The start of the Doc Stewart’s American Legion baseball season just got a little bit closer. The team announced on Monday that a game has been added to the start of the 2016 schedule. The Doc’s will now begin their season on Saturday with a home game against the Mid Valley Rockets, instead of starting the year on the road on Monday against the Portland Barbers.

The added contest will be a single, nine inning game at Legion Field, where the Doc’s will be able to start the year in front of the home crowd. The game is scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.

Doc Stewart’s baseball games can be heard on 1490 The Score and can also be watched streaming live online at 541radio.com. Pregame coverage of the contest Saturday will begin at 5:45 p.m.
