ROSEBURG – Tryouts have been completed and head coach Scott Shaver announced the 2016 roster for the Doc Stewart’s American Legion baseball team late Friday night.

The team consists of seven returning players from last year’s team, which finished third in Area 4 and made it to the Super Regionals. Players hail from six local high schools, with the most coming from Roseburg. The Indians have eight players on the roster, followed by Sutherlin with four, South Umpqua and Oakland have two each, and Douglas and Yoncalla with one each.

Two of the players are back from their freshman year of college. They qualify for the team as they’re still under the age of 19.
