First year on Doc Stewart’s roster.
Went to high school in Palmer, Alaska, but parents now live in Roseburg and was given an exemption to play for Doc’s.
Played baseball for the Colony Knights. Colony High School is about 40 miles north of Anchorage and has an enrollment of about 1,100 students.
McHugill was a first-team All-State selection in 2015 and was named an Alaska Under Armor preseason All-America nominee.
Played for the Wasilla Road Warriors American Legion program, which qualified for the Alaska state tournament.
Only pitched in two games for the College of Idaho Yotes baseball team. Had a 6.75 ERA in 1.1 innings pitched. Allowed no hits, but gave up 4 walks and had 0 strike outs.
