MYRTLE CREEK – Three South Umpqua baseball players have been named to the south roster for the 4A All-Star series played at Legion Field June 18-19.

Seniors Shawn Rigsby, Hunter Buchanan, and Tristin Gross will all represent the Lancers during the two day event. The trio’s selections extend a current seven-year streak of Lancers players making the series according to South Umpqua head coach Ryan Savage, who added this is the most selections the Lancers have had in one year during that streak.

Rigsby, Buchanan, and Gross were all first team All-League players for South Umpqua after leading the Lancers to a second place finish in the Far West League. The Lancers saw their season come to an end with an extra-inning loss at Banks during the first round of the 4A state playoffs.

The 4A All-Star series is a two-day format with a single, nine inning game on Saturday and a doubleheader on Sunday. The series will be played at Legion Field where it has bee hosted for decades according to coach Savage.
