BEAVERTON – The Roseburg boys tennis team has three doubles teams still in action at the state tennis tournament. We’re keeping an eye on the results and will post updates on this page throughout the day.
UPDATE 2:15 P.M. – All three Roseburg boys doubles teams have played their matched on Friday and the duo of Stefan and Lucas Ball is the only team that remains. Stefan and Lucas defeated the 6-seed team from South Medford (7-6; 6-0) and advance to the semifinals on Friday night. They will face the top-seeded team from Jesuit, with the winner advancing to the title match on Saturday.
Roseburg’s other doubles team in the quarterfinals, Paul Bonnet and Ethan Smith, lost to the fourth-seeded duo from Lincoln (6-0; 6-3). The Roseburg pair end their tournament run with a 2-1 record.
The Indians also had a doubles team in the consolation bracket. Seniors Nicholas Norlin-Pritchard and Kyle Yates lost their first consolation match 8-5 against a team from Barlow. Norlin-Pritchard and Yates went 0-2 at the tournament.
