EUGENE – The Roseburg softball team handled its business against last place Willamette on Wednesday and will next play for a post season berth against the Thurston Colts in a regular season finale doubleheader on Friday.
The Indians cruised to an 11-1 win in Eugene against the Wolverines. The win keeps Roseburg in second place and two games ahead of South Medford and Thurston, which are tied for third place in the Southwest Conference. If Roseburg wins one of its final two games against Thurston on Friday, they will clinch an automatic playoff berth.
Roseburg and Thurston will square off at Stewart Park on Friday, with game one of their doubleheader starting at 3 p.m.

Roseburg 12, Churchill 4 – The Roseburg girl’s lacrosse team finished off the regular season at home with a whopping 12-4 win over Churchill. Senior Maria Johnson led the Indians with three goals in the contest. The Indians finished the regular season in fourth place with a 9-5 conference record. Based off of their power ranking, the Roseburg girls appear headed to the post season. The first round starts on May 17.
