ROSEBURG – The Roseburg baseball and softball teams are headed south to Medford for a pair of conference games on Tuesday.
It’s a big week for Roseburg baseball. The Indians (8-8; 7-5 SWC) take on North Medford (10-7; 7-5 SWC) in a battle for second place in the Southwest Conference. Both squads are looking to rebound after getting swept last week. Roseburg lost three-straight to South Medford, while North Medford lost three-straight to Sheldon.
The first game of the three-game season series begins Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. in Medford. Pregame coverage gets underway at 4:15 p.m. on 1490 The Score and online at 541radio.com.
The Roseburg softball team has reeled off four consecutive victories since losing to South Medford in game one of a doubleheader a little more than a week ago. The Indians will try to get retribution for that loss when they head to Medford Tuesday for a date with the Panthers.
During their four-game winning streak, the Indians have allowed just two runs, while averaging 9.5 runs per game. Senior pitcher Ashley Martin is coming off back-to-back shutouts against Sheldon on Saturday.
The Indians could fall into a tie for second place in the conference if they lose on the road against the Panthers. Roseburg and South Medford will meet at 4:30 p.m.
