EUGENE – The Roseburg girls lacrosse team snapped a two-game losing streak with a big 17-7 win over the Sheldon Irish on Tuesday. The Indians had eight players score in the contest and five ended up with multiple goals, led by McKaela Larkin who had four goals. The 17 goals scored by Roseburg was the second-most the team has scored this season, falling short of the 20 goals scored against Churchill on March 30.
Other players with multiple goals for Roseburg are Alisha Haaby (2), Maria Johnson (3), Anna Lake (2), and Maleesa Scott (3). In goal, Ashley Smith had 17 saves on 24 shot attempts.
Up next for Roseburg is a home game against Churchill at 6 p.m. on Thursday.
The Roseburg boys lacrosse team dropped a conference game at South Eugene 16-4 on Tuesday.
Glide 9, Harrisburg 1
The Glide baseball team extended its winning streak to eight games with a 9-1 win over Harrisburg on Tuesday. The Wildcats (10-3; 3-0 MVC) remain tied for first with Pleasant Hill in the Mt. Valley Conference and the two teams will meet for a doubleheader on Friday in Glide.
Douglas 7, Marshfield 0
The Douglas softball team moved its winning streak to eight after shutting-out Marshfield 7-0 in a home game on Tuesday. The Lady Trojans (11-3; 6-0 FWL) hold a slim one-game lead over North Bend for first in the Far West League and the two sides will square off in a doubleheader on Friday in Winston.
