MYRTLE CREEK – The South Umpqua Lancers will host Lancer College Signing Day on Thursday to celebrate and honor three seniors that are signing National Letters of Intent to play college sports.

Alexis Westbrooks has signed to play softball at George Fox University in Newberg next year. Westbrooks was an honorable mention Far West League player after her junior season and has helped the Lady Lancers to a 4-2 record in league play this season and an 11-6 record overall.

Ashley and Megan Orosco will both continue their athletic careers at Southern Oregon University in Ashland. The sisters will run track and cross country for the Raiders.

The Lancer College Signing Day will begin at 12:10 p.m. in the South Umpqua High School library. The public is invited to attend the event.

Several other SUHS student-athletes are still in the process of finalizing their collegiate plans and will be recognized in May.
