MYRTLE CREEK – The Douglas Lady Trojans softball team won 14-7 over South Umpqua on Tuesday to remain perfect and atop the Far West League.

The contest was close through the first five innings, before the Lady Trojans pulled away for the win. Douglas took a 2-0 lead through two innings, but South Umpqua rallied to take a one-run lead. The Trojans battled back to lead 9-7 after five innings and cruised to the victory.

Douglas (8-3; 3-0 FWL) remains undefeated in league play with the win. South Umpqua falls to 1-2 and 8-6 overall.

The South Umpqua baseball team got the better of its Douglas County rival, beating Douglas 5-2 to move into the top half of the Far West League standings.
