COOS BAY, OR – The track and field season got underway for a number of local squads on Thursday at a pair of icebreaker events.

Athletes from Sutherlin, Glide, Camas Valley, and Umpqua Valley Christian took part in the Marshfield Icebreaker at Prefontaine Track in Coos Bay.

The Glide girls finished third as a team behind top performances from Jordan Anderson and Kaylee Hendron, who finished first and second respectively in the discus. Anderson also placed second in the shot put, while senior Airel Farley added a second place finish for the Wildcats in the 3000 meters race.

Sutherlin’s Camerin Feagins placed second in the 1500 meters race and third in the 800 to pace the Lady Bulldogs to a sixth place finish. Camas Valley’s Jazmin Wilberg won the triple jump and the Lady Hornets came in seventh place. The UVC girls finished ninth.

In the boy’s standings; Sutherlin finished fifth, Glide sixth, and Camas Valley seventh.

The Douglas Trojans got their season underway at the Siuslaw Icebreaker in Florence. Tomas Maness led the way with a second place finish in the 200 meters race and a fourth place finish in the 100. See the full results from the meet HERE.
