NEW YORK – The NCAA wrestling tournament starts Thursday and former Roseburg Indian Seth Thomas will take to the mats for the final time as an Oregon State Beaver.

Thomas, a redshirt senior at Oregon State, is wrestling in his second NCAA Tournament. He’ll be looking for his first win at the tournament after going 0-2 last year. Thomas is un-seeded at 165 lbs. and will face 8-seed Chad Welch from Purdue. Welch is 30-7 on the year, while Thomas has gone 21-9 up to this point.

Thomas is one of six Oregon State wrestlers at the NCAA meet. The No. 24 Beavers won the Pac-12 tournament title for a fifth time in a row. The NCAA Tournament is being held at Madison Square Garden in New York.
