BAKER CITY, OR – The North Douglas Lady Warriors begin their time in Baker City for the 1A championship tournament on Wednesday. The Lady Warriors are one of the final eight teams left in the 1A state playoffs and the girls are looking to improve on last year’s third place finish.

North Douglas, the No. 3 seed in the bracket, faces No. 6 seed Condon/Wheeler in the quarterfinals. The two teams met last year at the tournament site in the 3rd place game, with North Douglas winning 58-40.

The Warriors and the Knights both have lengthy winning streaks coming into Wednesday’s contest. North Douglas has reeled off 13 straight victories, while Condon/Wheeler has won its past 16 games.

The two teams meet in the third quarterfinal of the day. Tipoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. The winner moves on to face either Hosanna Christian or Rogue Valley Adventist in the semifinals on Friday. The loser drops into the consolation bracket and will play on Thursday morning at 10:45 a.m.
